Lavender Lemonade Recipe

Lemon is well known for its therapeutic properties. In Ayurvedic medicine lemons are commonly used for digestive problems, assimilation disorders, reduction of aggravated Kapha dosha and detoxification. 

Health Benefits Of Lemons:

Lemons are full of nutrients and they have beneficial effect on digestion because its composition is similar to gastric acid. 
Lemon juice stimulates agni, relieves colic pain and lowers the risk of heart diseases. It purifies the blood and eliminates toxins from the body. It also balances the pH levels in the body, strengthens the liver, soothe sore throat and prevents the formation of kidney stones. 
Lemon juice mixed with cumin powder can reduce the nausea.

Health Benefits Of Lavender:

Lavender is edible and its delicate flavor can be used in both sweet and savory dishes. It has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiseptic, anti fungal, hypnotic and pain relieving properties. 
Stuffing a pillowcase with lavender buds can soothe headache and induce relaxation. It stimulates the immune system and cleanse the liver. 
Purple is also the color of crown chakra – the center which connect us with universe and Divine. It is associated with spirituality, mental clarity and transcendental consciousness.

Lavender lemonade recipe:


2 cups boiling water
¼ cup lavender flowers
2 cups cold water
1 cup lemon juice
½ cup sugar
pinch of salt

- Add lavender in boiling water.
- Cover it and allow mixture to steep at least 20 minutes or up to 4 hours.
- Strain it and discard lavender.
- Pour infusion into pitcher.
- Add all other ingredients and stir well.
- Refrigerate before serving and enjoy.
